How we score — the Trust Score™

Every exchange is scored 0–10 across eight pillars. The weighted sum is its Trust Score™, shown out of 10. The same formula is applied identically to every exchange and lives in code — it is never hand-tuned to favour a commercial partner.

The eight pillars

Security, regulation, transparency and fees carry the most weight because they matter most to keeping your money and data safe and your costs low. The same eight pillars also drive our Best-Of rankings and the Exchange Finder, so every recommendation is reproducible and defensible.

Where a data point is an estimate rather than a confirmed fact, we mark it as such, and every review shows when it was last verified.
